48 is 'off, on tamper alarm' iirc.
Leave it to time out and it should start-up normally, the more you keep turning it off the longer the alarm will sound.

You need to reset the bnv key on the lumina itself There are some very small option switches on the lumina, Disconnect power, Remove game card, put switch 6 in the on position and connect the power to it, (leave other switches as they are) leave for 15 seconds and then turn sw 6 off, Turn off power ...

Swp' are licence free, (for the moment !!)

or he could have some £5 / 10p jackpot machines - also license free but does require a local permit - cheap.

One of my local pubs only has a £5 machines for that reason.

Lumina in parallel mode should be 1-7 off and 8 on, does it light up in test at all?

Oh, one thing, the connector for NV4 and Lumina are the same except on the Lumina the last 3 pins on the loom should be empty - could that be the problem?

Yeah, had a 'chef' (I boil pre-made bags of food) in a local beefeater once, done his nut's when he was playing @ end of shift, I went on it and done the bizz (old homers mc') - he had a go at me so I bounced his head through the jelly bean dispenser attached to the machine! jelly beans everywhere !...

The payout is normally controlled by a % key or the dip switches,

Just google variable percentage % key and you should find loads on fleabay
