When you stripped the hopper down before did you make sure you plugged the correct connector in to it - as the will be a spare one that you mentioned before
Or you could try the other connector and recheck

BTW that pic is off the an OLD lamp driver board - the one's that were prone to catch fire, I'd replace it anyway to be on the safe side As PSX stated eggy777 on ebay does the whole kit for £20~£30 quid depending on his mood it would seem !! and the LDB are the newer ones if you check his listings (...

OK from your last pic you have got the big cap fitted (from the wires that I can see - leading to a big cap under the hopper shelf) BUT "coin mech???? hopper???? and bnv????" means it can not find coin mech, hopper or note acceptor (BNV is note acceptor), so the cctalk line if defo fu**ed,...

Is this the one with the Eclipse board in your machine by any chance? If so What messages do you see on boot up? Yeah you could compare it to M1 I suppose,

But sometimes it's the flash module that goes duff and can stop it from booting, if it boots ok now you should be ok.

Alarm is because of dead battery,

Are you talking about global eclipse?

If so the program is stored on flash chips mounted on the reverse of the module where you insert the flash card,

that can be removed and put into another board as long as the board is ok in the 1st place
