Something I'd like would be if the game would tell you what the correct answer was when you got one wrong, as Qi used to do on the special questions. That way I could convince myself that playing was in some way an educational activity as I was learning what something was, not just what it wasn't.

Pointless should certainly have a jackpot range of between 5-10 quid, can't be the only one disheartened when I play it, wait for the intro screen to come up and say 1.20 in the corner. Kind of deflates things a bit. You can go to the "Help" screen and check the prize amount before you pl...

Try using

https://www.google.com/mapmaker

(ignore that it's intended for map editing)

Google are gradually phasing out their "classic" maps interface in favour of the new one which is worse in many ways.

Is there a mobile/tablet version of #Words as there is with Word Soup? I had a look but couldn't spot anything.

I'd prefer the pub one if the difficulty was less random - as previously earlier in thread the DW/TW can skew it a lot so it's hard to fairly see who does best with a mate.

Paragonians? You couldn't have a cabinet that was free to play as the Wetherspoons residents would be on it all day mashing the buttons until the beer tokens came out. There might be something you could do with an "App" on your own device provided that you were connected to the pub wifi. I...

It would need to be a program where other people aren't involved as either competitors or team members - or where this can be removed (The Chase) or automated (1vs100, Pointless) without compromising the game.

And the government in their wisdom decided that those machines weren't dutiable as a bar of chocolate/Frozen figurine etc as they weren't actual money.Win 60p on a quiz game though? No,that's a proper prize.Grrr.. Having had a look at this I read it that they are dutiable but at 5% rather than 20% ...

Secondly,I'm afraid I feel I must challenge your statement that Pointless is as skill-based as conventional Q&A games. Here's why... I'd agree with this. I don't find it enjoyable to play and I'm thankful for whoever it was posted the tip that the jackpot was on the help screen without spending ...

I think I spotted one a Birmingham 'spoons a couple of months back. I thought he was a bit mad at first as he was reading the questions and answers out loud but then I noticed he was winning so I wondered if he was recording the ones he didn't know for future revision.

From the angle I'd assumed he was perving at the barmaids though perhaps that says more about me...

I concur with the Regal. Does anyone know if there's one in the place next door that has a lot of fruit machines? I couldn't spot one but it looks the kind of place there should be one.

I'm trying to think of a single place where I've seen the machine return from the updated version to "normal" and I can't. The most common next step does seem to be the machine disappearing altogether. Depressing. If machines are being removed then it wouldn't surprise me if places though...

It's a bit too subtle, considering these machines will remove games themselves in the normal course of operation. It needs some kind of message on the menu screen, ideally which when clicked brings up some text telling the bar staff what to do.

Nostalgia might be more popular than trivia - they could try turning Buzzfeed's "101 things you'll recognise if you're a 90s kid!!!" style content into a quiz.

My own quiz business thought for the day was whether they test the question sets on different age groups. I was wondering was whether new, younger players are discouraged because there are too many questions on things they're unlikely to have naturally come across. I was thinking initially of dated ...

I'm also surprised that machines can't payout in coins other than pounds if a supermarket self-service till is capable. There's perhaps a little method in the madness of not updating the coin mechs as if the player is mostly restricted to putting quids in then the machine should self-replenish payou...
